"Before meeting Ms. Worth, I was just a person who played sports.
Ms. Worth consistently gave me advice on how to better my whole self. She even went out of her way to give my teammates and I a monthly food plan. I learned from her that being an athlete meant caring about my own health and well being, in my body and in my mind. She introduced yoga and meditating to my teammates and I. This had a huge impact on our performance on the field. It relaxed us and cleared our minds. Yoga helped us concentrate on what we needed to do on the field to win. While working with Ms. Worth, negativity was not allowed. She would encourage my teammates and I to reach our full potential each and every day. I still use the skills she taught us to improve myself.
After four years of working with Ms. Worth, I feel I can now call myself a true athlete."

"I loved Shannon's yoga, she incorporated poses that were strengthening but not too aggressive to the body. As high level athletes we do lots of severe workouts, and yoga with Shannon was a really nice time for me to appreciate my body in a different way. Shannon really got it. She understands high-level athletes and gets what we need. She created space for us in our bodies and minds to be calm and have a better self-awareness.

I never realized how beneficial yoga could be before I ever practiced it. During the soccer and track seasons, I would struggle with certain core exercises or even maintaining the correct posture during my runs. Staying up as other players bumped into me battling for the ball also proved a challenge. Once I began practicing yoga, that all changed. I had gained certain strengths that could only be achieved by the discipline of maintaining the yogic poses. My form and balance improved immensely, allowing me to be a better player on the field. Yoga also improved my confidence as well. The relaxation that is achieved from stressing the body and not the mind allowed me to focus better when I was on the field during a game. I was more able to listen to my body and to push it even further since I learned more about it from the practice of yoga. If it worked for me as an individual athlete, I can only imagine that it can work to improve the team as well. When I did the classes with Ms. Worth, there was a certain sense of synchronicity with the other members of the class. I believe that if teams practice yoga together, they can achieve a greater sense of harmony with one another, and that is very valuable to have on any team. I may not participate on any sport teams now but I still enjoy the practice of yoga. It allows me to clear my mind of any stress, whether school related or not, and it keeps my body feeling great.

Doing yoga made me more flexible and being an offensive and defensive lineman flexibility is a big part of my game and makes down blocking and pulling a lot easier
Yoga will help you in whatever sport you play and also can prevent injury, but its also great for athletes for the mental aspect. It teaches you how to focus and set your mind to one goal.
My sophomore year my football team did yoga and it helped everyone's physical ability and also brought them to another level and also helped in bringing the team together.
Yoga was good because I learned something new and it challenged me to do different things.
